Historische Luftaufnahmen des St. Petri-Doms am Ostseefjord Schlei | St.-Petri-Dom zu Schleswig: Die Geschichte des Domes reicht bis ins Jahr 850 zurück, als eine Missionskirche in Haithabu entstand. Die Gründung des Bistums Schleswig durch König Otto I. im Jahr 947 führte zur Errichtung eines ersten Domes in Schleswig, dessen Lage und Größe jedoch unbekannt sind. Die erste schriftliche Erwähnung des Domes findet sich im Jahr 1134, nachdem die Bürger Schleswigs den dänischen König Niels in seinem Schloss erschlugen.
